BayMark Health Services Acquires SUD Treatment Provider Fritz Clinics

BayMark Health Services Inc. announced Friday the acquisition of Fritz Clinic, a group of six office-based opioid treatment (OBOT) programs based in Central and Northern Alabama.

The Lewisville, Texas-based substance use disorder (SUD) treatment provider deepens its presence in Alabama with the deal; its website lists four existing locations in the state.

BayMark Health made the acquisition through its AppleGate Recovery subsidiary and will rebrand Fritz Clinic to the AppleGate brand, according to a news release.

Fritz Clinic offers buprenorphine and Suboxone medication-assisted treatment as well as supportive services such as counseling and care coordination. BayMark now operates more than 70 OBOT programs in 19 states, the release states.

“As our OBOT business has grown, we have focused on ensuring our patients receive the highest quality, most effective treatment options in an environment that is also convenient and affordable,” Michael Saul, executive vice president of BayMark Health, said in the release. “Fritz Clinic shares those values and, similar to AppleGate Recovery, offers established patients the option of a telehealth service to make treatment more accessible.”

BayMark Health is one of the largest SUD treatment providers in North America. It operates more than 400 treatment facilities in 37 states and three Canadian provinces.

The Fritz Clinic deal marks the seventh acquisition that the company has announced so far in 2022. BayMark Health is a portfolio company of Webster Equity Partners. Webster has made other major investments in behavioral health companies as well.
