Talkspace Inc. (Nasdaq: TALK) is debuting a new app that offers parents various caregiving resources to help them with their children’s care.
The Lasting Parenting Guide is being offered by self-guided therapy app Lasting from Talkspace, and features over 100 sessions that blend care modalities and activities including psychoeducation, reflections, exercises and journaling.
Licensed therapists guide two live classes a week that provide users with anonymous group question and answer engagement tools, as well as personalized follow-ups. Additionally, the Lasting Parenting Guide features more than 30 mental health prompts designed to help parents practice self-care and emotional regulation.
New York-based Talkspace purchased Lasting in 2020 for an undisclosed sum, whereby the app was renamed Lasting from Talkspace. The Lasting Parenting Guide builds off beta testing of Lasting’s program, which Talkspace claims helped 79% of families parent more effectively.
Lasting’s parenting program included the participation of over 4,000 families.
“We took the best of the best therapy modalities for parenting therapy and created self-guided modules and live classes for today’s parents,” Liz Colizza, the head of clinical content at Lasting from Talkspace, said in a press release.
The Lasting Parenting Guide is available on Apple and Google Play for a subscription of $29.99 per month.
“We wanted to create a safe space for parents to feel seen and heard in their parenting journey and offer them digestible and practical guidance,” Colizza added. “With that in mind, Lasting is a blend of attachment-based therapy, object relations therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family therapy.”
Talkspace’s B2B utilization grew by 139% last year, with 274 sessions completed. The new parental service by Lasting from Talkspace comes less than a year after its parent company Talkspace went public, followed months later with the departure of its co-founders after reporting declining B2C growth.
