LifeStance hires CFO
LifeStance Health, one of the nation’s largest outpatient mental health providers, has hired a new CFO in J. Michael Bruff.
While the company only recently announced the news, Bruff has been in the position since March, leading finance, accounting, tax, treasury, internal audit and investor relations functions for the provider.
Founded in 2017 and based in Scottsdale, Arizona, LifeStance is one of the nation’s largest outpatient mental health platforms. It provides a comprehensive suite of in-person and virtual services out of more than 370 centers in 27 states.
Bruff brings more than 30 years of finance experience across multiple industries to the company. Previously, he was CFO of Varian Medical Systems, a provider of cancer care technologies and solutions, where he oversaw multiple departments leading up to the company’s sale to Siemens Healthineers last year.
The announcement of Bruff’s hire comes as LifeStance also recently filed with the SEC detailing its plan to raise up to $100 million in an initial public offering (IPO).
Hazelden Betty Ford adds director of diversity
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation has named its first ever director of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).
Andrew Williams will step into the newly formed position on June 7. He comes to the nonprofit from the University of Minnesota Rochester, where he served as assistant vice chancellor for student success, engagement and equity. He brings more than 20 years of experience in higher education diversity and multicultural leadership to the position.
Hazelden Betty Ford is the nation’s largest nonprofit addiction treatment provider. It has 17 locations and counting, in addition to a virtual care offering and a slew of other business arms focused on topics such as addiction education, research and publishing.
New CEO at Sierra by the Sea, Sunrise Recovery Ranch
Sierra by the Sea and Sunrise Recovery Ranch have named a new CEO.
Marlon Rollins replaces Michelle Beaudoin, a 20-year behavioral health veteran who was hired to head up the facilities last August. According to LinkedIn, Beaudoin’s time as CEO came to an end in March. While Sierra by the Sea and Sunrise Recovery Ranch announced Rollins’ hire this month, it’s unclear exactly when he stepped into the position.
Rollins has previously served as the CEO and COO of regional branches of some of the nation’s top behavioral health providers such as American Addiction Centers and Universal Health Services (NYSE: UHS). He brings 15 years of experience in behavioral health to the position.
Sierra by the Sea and Sunrise Recovery Ranch are part of the Sierra Tucson Group, which was formed in 2019 and is owned by Acadia Healthcare (Nasdaq: ACHC). The locations offer residential treatment, partial hospitalization programing, intensive outpatient programing and detoxification services, among other treatments.
